If there’s one thing that brings people together in Japan, it’s yakiniku—the irresistible experience of grilling premium cuts of meat right at your table, sizzling to perfection. And when you combine that with an all-you-can-eat buffet? Now that’s a dining experience worth celebrating!

For our very first must-visit restaurant, we’re taking you to a place where you can eat to your heart’s content without breaking the bank—welcome to Manpuku Taro Nakanogo. This isn’t just another yakiniku spot; it’s a hidden gem for meat lovers, foodies, and families looking for an affordable, delicious feast.

A Restaurant with Heart and Diversity
I was fortunate to meet the manager of Manpuku Taro Nakanogo, a fellow Filipino who has been running the restaurant for an incredible 10 years. She shared that the restaurant has been serving customers for nearly 16 years, growing into a beloved dining destination.
What truly impressed me was her dedication to listening to customers’ voices. She told me that Filipino trainees who dined at the restaurant would often ask if they could enjoy some Filipino dishes alongside their yakiniku. That’s when she took the initiative to introduce Filipino cuisine to the menu! Thanks to her, we can now enjoy not only the classic Japanese yakiniku experience but also a taste of home with familiar Filipino flavors.

But that’s not all.
Since an all-foreign staff runs Manpuku Taro Nakanogo, the menu has expanded to include dishes inspired by Italy, Nepal, Vietnam, and Korea. It’s a true melting pot of flavors, offering something special for every foreign diner. Whether you’re craving a taste of your homeland or eager to explore new cuisines, this restaurant delivers a one-of-a-kind dining experience.
A Dining Experience You Can’t Forget
Our first visit to Manpuku Taro Nakanogo was just last month, and to be honest, we found it completely by chance. After finishing some “youji” (important matters to do) in Nagoya, we were looking for a yakiniku restaurant where our children could enjoy a wide variety of food. That’s when we stumbled upon Manpuku Taro Nakanogo—and what a lucky find it was!
As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by a Filipino staff member at the cashier, who kindly explained the system to us. Unlike most restaurants, here you pay first before entering—a system that ensures a smooth, no-stress dining experience.
But the real surprise came when we stepped inside.
The ambiance was unlike any other yakiniku place we had been to. The restaurant was beautifully decorated, filled with hanging flowers—a perfect touch, just in time for Japan’s spring bloom. It was warm, inviting, and had a lively yet relaxing atmosphere.

What stood out even more was the diversity of the crowd. We saw foreigners of all backgrounds, nationalities, and colors, all gathered around tables, grilling their favorite cuts of meat, chatting, and enjoying the feast. It felt like a place where cultures blended together over delicious food.
And then, we saw the buffet.
I was genuinely impressed by the variety they had! If you’re a seafood lover, you’ll be in heaven—there’s a full-on seafood feast waiting for you. If you prefer fresh greens, they have an abundance of salads and vegetables to complement your meal. And of course, the meat selection was just as impressive, offering everything you could hope for in a yakiniku experience.

But what truly made the experience special was the staff. Their warm smiles and friendly service made us feel so welcomed, and in that moment, I knew—I just had to feature this restaurant on my blog.
And now that I have the chance, I’m beyond excited to share this incredible dining experience with you!
For foreigners in Japan, finding a restaurant that feels both familiar and exciting can be a challenge. But Manpuku Taro Nakanogo is exactly that—a hidden gem where cultures meet, flavors come alive, and every meal feels like a celebration.
From Our First Visit to Graduation Celebration
Our journey with Manpaku Taru Nakanogo started unexpectedly, but it quickly became a place our family holds dear.
The restaurant’s cozy ambiance caught my eye right away—it was different from what we usually saw in most restaurants. It’s warm and inviting, and it wasn’t just another yakiniku place; it was a place that catered to many tastes. My 4-year-old daughter couldn’t stop talking about the chocolate fountain, dipping fruits and marshmallows, or making their own kakigori (shaved ice). They were in heaven! It wasn’t just the fun treats that they loved—the variety of food was amazing. We had everything from fresh seafood to tender meats and foreign dishes, to ice cream, and fruits, where the kids enjoyed every bite.

We loved it so much that when our eldest graduated recently, we knew exactly where we wanted to go to celebrate. Manpaku Taru Nakanogo had already become a favorite, and it felt fitting to make it the backdrop of this important milestone. Once again, the kids had a blast with the chocolate fountain, making their own desserts and trying everything from fruits to the wide array of sweets. What made it even more special was seeing how happy everyone was, including us as parents. There’s something about this place that makes every meal feel like a celebration, and the staff made sure of it, ensuring our time there was relaxed, fun, and full of joy.
Lots of Varieties to Choose From
If there’s one thing that sets Manpuku Taro Nakanogo apart, it’s the endless variety of flavors waiting to be explored. This all-you-can-eat yakiniku paradise is more than just a place to grill meat—it’s a melting pot of cuisines from around the world, offering something for every craving. Whether you’re a fan of sizzling Japanese BBQ, fresh sushi, or dishes inspired by global flavors, this restaurant is an experience worth indulging in.

An Unforgettable Yakiniku Feast
At the heart of Manpuku Taro is its grill-it-yourself yakiniku experience. The restaurant offers a wide selection of premium meats, from juicy beef cuts to tender skirt steak and even flavorful beef tongue. The best part? You’re in control of the grill! Cook your meat to perfection, savoring the rich, smoky flavors that make yakiniku such a beloved dining tradition.

Sushi & More for Japanese Food Lovers
Beyond the grills, Manpuku Taro also serves an impressive variety of fresh sushi. From classic nigiri to flavorful sushi rolls, every bite is packed with freshness and umami. Whether you’re pairing it with your grilled meats or enjoying it as a stand-alone dish, the sushi selection adds another layer of deliciousness to your meal.

A Global Culinary Adventure
One of the biggest surprises at Manpuku Taro is its international menu—something you don’t often find in yakiniku buffets. Recognizing the diverse tastes of its diners, the restaurant offers a mix of Filipino, Italian, Indian, Nepalese, Vietnamese, and Korean dishes, ensuring that every culture finds something familiar and comforting.
For Filipino diners, this place is extra special. You won’t just find yakiniku here—you’ll also find our beloved home-cooked meals! Imagine indulging in flavorful Adobo, rich and creamy Kare-Kare, crispy and savory Lechon Kawali, and even classic Filipino condiments like pinakurat (spiced vinegar), to enhance every bite. It’s a taste of home, right in the heart of Japan! But the Filipino feast doesn’t stop there! For those with a sweet tooth, Manpuku Taro also serves classic Filipino desserts like Biko (sweet sticky rice), comforting bowls of Bilo-Bilo (glutinous rice balls in coconut milk), and even Taho, the beloved warm tofu treat drizzled with sweet arnibal syrup and chewy sago pearls. It’s a rare find in Japan, making this buffet a true delight for Filipinos longing for a taste of home.

But the international flavors don’t stop there. Manpuku Taro also serves cheese naan and chicken tikka from India, Vietnamese-style dishes, savory Korean side dishes, and more, making it a true melting pot of flavors.
Ramen, Sides & Fresh Greens
If you’re looking for something beyond grilled meats and sushi, the buffet also includes a variety of side dishes, ramen, and fresh vegetables to complete your meal. Whether you’re in the mood for a steamy bowl of ramen, crisp salads, or flavorful appetizers, there’s always something to satisfy your cravings.

Sweet Endings with a Fun Twist
No feast is complete without dessert, and Manpuku Taro knows exactly how to end your meal on a sweet note. Enjoy soft-serve ice cream with a variety of fun toppings, perfect for cooling down after a sizzling yakiniku session. But the treats don’t stop there!

For families with kids, this place is an absolute delight. There’s a chocolate fountain, where little ones can dip marshmallows, fruits, and other goodies for a decadent, chocolatey treat. And for those who love refreshing desserts, the restaurant offers Kakigōri, Japan’s famous shaved ice dessert, drizzled with fruity syrups—guaranteed to be a hit for both kids and adults alike!
But what truly makes this spot a paradise for families is the dedicated playroom filled with toys, games, and a TV, allowing kids to have fun while parents enjoy their meal at a relaxed pace. Whether it’s indulging in sweet treats or having a blast in the play area, Manpuku Taro ensures a joyful dining experience for the whole family.
The Fun Doesn’t Stop There!
Great food is just the beginning at Manpuku Taro Nakanogo—because here, dining comes with entertainment! Every 4th Saturday of the month, the restaurant turns into a vibrant live music venue, where a live band fills the air with energetic beats and soulful melodies.
Imagine this: You’re gathered with your family or friends, enjoying an endless feast of yakiniku and global flavors, when suddenly, the atmosphere shifts—the lights dim slightly, the first chords strum through the speakers, and the room comes alive with music. Whether it’s classic rock, pop, or international hits, the live band sets the perfect mood, making your dining experience even more special and unforgettable.
For many foreigners living in Japan, it’s rare to find a place where you can feast, enjoy music, and truly feel at home. But here, you’ll find yourself singing along, tapping your feet, and even dancing in your seat—just like you would at a hometown gathering. And if you’re celebrating a special occasion? Even better! The band sometimes takes song requests, making birthdays, anniversaries, or casual nights out feel like a personal celebration. It’s worth the Price
Our first visit was on a weekend, and the prices were a bit higher compared to weekdays, but it was completely worth it. Here’s a quick breakdown of what we paid:

• Children (Elementary School): ¥1,749
• Children (Toddler/Preschool): ¥649
• Drink Bar: ¥308 x 2 = ¥616
• Total for Weekend Visit: ¥8,690 (including tax)
While the weekend prices were slightly higher, the experience and the variety of food made every yen spent worthwhile. The all-you-can-eat yakiniku and international cuisine, plus the warm atmosphere, made us feel like we were getting a great deal for the quality of food and service.
